Just because
you were born with two feet doesn't mean you know how to figure
skate. And just because you own a boat doesn't mean you know everything
there is to know about boating and safety on the water.
It could save
you down the road
One of the best investments you can make is to take an approved
boating safety course. Not only will it make you a better boater,
but in addition, many insurance companies offer discounts to customers
who have completed approved courses. Check with your agent to find
out what courses qualify you for the discount.
Check out the US Coast Guard
Finding a course in your area isn't hard. There are classes for
all skill levels and ages. The US Coast Guard Auxiliary offers some
of the most popular courses. The US Coast Guard Auxiliary is made
up of 36,000 volunteers who are specially trained so that they can
help the Coast Guard with boating education, safety patrols, search
and rescue missions, and aids to navigation.
To find out what courses are available,
call the USCG Auxiliary in your area. You can find the number in
your local phone book or check their Web site at www.uscgaux.org.
